04/27/2010

(Fredericksburg, VA ) Rappahannock Goodwill Industries earned a score of more than 80 percent qualifying the organization for the (OS1) ® Green Certified Award.

The award brings recognition to the health promoting an environmentally friendly custodial service delivered by a team of employees who keep the Quantico-based FBI ERF and ERF-E buildings clean.

Professional cleaning operations that receive the award demonstrate success in managing their (OS1) Program. These programs reflect a commitment to reduce environmental harm and promote health while cleaning. The organizations qualify for the award by submitting to a third party audit. During the process, more than 330 factors that are considered best practice benchmarks in safe and environmentally-responsible cleaning are evaluated.

The audit for the custodial service was conducted on March 24, by ManageMen, Inc. The ERF building received a score of 83 percent and ERF-E building received a score of 85 percent.
