New Attended Donation Centers in Colonial Beach, Dahlgren, and King George

Press Release: June 25, 2012

Rappahannock Goodwill Expands Their Attended Donation Centers to Colonial Beach, Dahlgren, and King George

Rappahannock Goodwill Industries has opened three new attended donation centers. The donation center in Colonial Beach is located at 600 McKinney Boulevard. The Dahlgren donation center is located at 16375 Merchant Lane and the King George location is at 8149 Kings Highway. All of the new donation centers are open seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Donations of gently used clothing, shoes, household items, and furniture are welcomed, and the donations are tax deductible.

“We are excited to announce the openings of our new donation centers in Colonial Beach and King George because they will make it easier for residents to donate to Goodwill,” says Vice President of Donated Goods, Ted Smith. “Donors in Colonial Beach and King George will not have to travel far in order to donate items which they no longer need. It is the goal of Goodwill to continue to keep up with the fast growing region.” Before these new additions to Goodwill, donors would mainly only be able to donate items in the Fredericksburg area.

Donations received at Goodwill are sold in the region’s 10 area stores and over ninety-five percent of all sales go to helping people find jobs – especially those with barriers to employment such as a disabilities.
