Goodwill’s Aquia Towne Center store is moving

09/13/2005

(Fredericksburg, VA) – Rappahannock Goodwill Industries’ Aquia Towne Center store is moving to a bigger location in the Doc Stone Center. The new store will be located at 72 Doc Stone Road just off Garrisonville Road in north Stafford County. Goodwill’s Aquia Towne Center store began serving the communities in north Stafford in August 1997.
“Since 1997, the popularity of our retail store has grown tremendously. Not only has our customer base grown, but the generosity of our donors in north Stafford has really increased over the years,” said Kerry Ebbert, Goodwill’s vice president of retail operations. “We have simply outgrown the 4,200 square feet of retail space at the Aquia store,” said Ebbert. “The new Doc Stone location will allow us to better serve the community by more than doubling the sales space to 8,800 square feet. It will also give us an additional 5,200 square feet of space for processing donated items,” Ebbert added.

Rappahannock Goodwill Industries’ mission will also be expanded by moving the new store in north Stafford County. “Goodwill is very excited about opening our second Job Help Center adjacent to the new retail store in the Doc Stone Center,” said Fred Prostko, vice president of human resource development for Goodwill. “The new Job Help Center will allow Goodwill to better serve people in north Stafford County who need help in finding work,” Prostko said. “The new center will provide job assistance to people ranging from basic computer skills, interviewing skills, and resume and cover letter preparation to referrals to outside agencies linking them to community resources and job services,” Prostko added.

A Grand Opening Celebration is planned for Saturday, September 24 beginning at 9:00am. The day’s festivities will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, refreshments, prizes, music, children’s activities, and a live radio remote from 9:00am-12:00pm.
