(Fredericksburg, VA) – Rappahannock Goodwill Industries in partnership with local Culpeper area Girl Scout troops will be celebrating the 14th Annual Goodwill to Others Community Drive which kicks-off on Saturday, October 14 at the Goodwill Retail Store at 504 Culpeper Town Square in Culpeper from 11:00am-1:00pm.
Local Girl Scout troops in the Culpeper area will begin distributing Goodwill to Others collection bags on the doors of area residents beginning Saturday, October 14. “The bags are to be filled with donated items from area residents over the next three weeks and collected and brought to our Culpeper Goodwill Store on Saturday, November 4,” said Mike West, vice president of marketing and development for Rappahannock Goodwill. The donated goods will be given to Goodwill and weighed. For every 300 pounds of goods collected, Goodwill will give a $50 voucher to the Culpeper Department of Social Services to be distributed to needy families in the Culpeper area,” West added.
All donations that come into the Culpeper Goodwill Store on Saturday, November 4 will count towards the Girl Scouts’ Community Drive.
The Culpeper area Girl Scouts have been involved in this community service project for many years. The $50 vouchers are distributed by the Culpeper Department of Social Services to area needy families.
Rappahannock Goodwill Industries is a private not-for-profit organization that serves the city of Fredericksburg and a 12-county region. It provides work opportunities and job training to people with barriers to employment, particularly those with disabilities. Its operations include a commercial laundry, off-site custodial and administrative services, an outsourcing and contracting operation and five retail stores and donation centers.
