(Fredericksburg, VA) – Rappahannock Goodwill Industries and the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce are joining together for the sixth annual Chamber Goodwill Awards to honor local businesses and the good work that area non-profits do each year in the Fredericksburg Region.
“Goodwill is pleased to have been the Title Sponsor for the Chamber Goodwill Awards for the past six years,” said Woody Van Valkenburgh, Goodwill’s president and CEO. “Local businesses and their employees play a vital role for area non-profit organizations including financial support and volunteering many hours,” says Van Valkenburgh. “What is unique about the Chamber Goodwill Awards is that it recognizes the important role of collaboration between non-profits and the for-profits,” he added.
The event will be held at the Fredericksburg Country Club on Tuesday, September 25 and will include a Non-Profit Expo, dinner and award ceremony. Awards will be given to businesses in three different size categories based on number of employees including Small Business (0-50), Medium Business (51-100), and Large Business (100+). “Business are nominated by local non-profit organizations and submitted to the Chamber of Commerce,” said Van Valkenburgh. “An independent panel reviews the nominations and selects the three winners.”
