There are many different ways that you, an individual, or a company, can support your local Goodwill and help us to reach out to people in our community who are in need. People who have a barrier that is preventing them from working and leading a productive life.
Sometimes we take for granted the education, skills, and training we have that allow us to live and work independently every day. There are approximately 8,000 people in Rappahannock Goodwill Industries’ service are who are of working age, yet unemployed and would like to work.
How can you help? Here are a few ways that you can assist us in spreading the "goodwill" throughout the community to benefit and improve the lives of many people in our region:
Donate to Goodwill
Each time you donate gently used clothing or household items to Rappahannock Goodwill, you help change another human being’s life by giving him or her the chance to work. And your donations are tax-deductible, too.
Your donation of used goods can make a difference for people in your community, and help make a healthier planet as well. Of every dollar you spend at our Goodwill stores, over 85 cents goes toward job training and placement services for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment. By donating your vehicle to Goodwill, you may be helping someone whose barrier to employment is transportation. If your vehicle qualifies for our GoodWheels Program, you can give someone the gift of mobility through transportation, and the opportunity to find and keep employment. The gift of work is an awesome gift!
